This marquetry tray features a charming checkerboard (ichimatsu) design made by combining different shades of domestically sourced wood. Finished with an acrylic coating and packaged in a box, it’s perfect for gifting. The cypress and cedar materials used come from Kanuma, a region known for traditional joinery. A highly skilled artisan meticulously crafts each piece, and only a few artisans in Japan can achieve this level of 3D yosegi work.
